M - Mighty

A fearless southern girl is . . .

Mighty
She possesses exceptional power and strength. She's a force to be reckoned with. She stands unfaltering in the face of disappointments, defeats, failures, intimidations and affronts. She holds her head high, he back straight and her shoulders back. She descends from a long line of matriarchs who overcame all obstacles in the way of their destinies and she continues to provide that example to the young women following in her footsteps.

That sounds like a very cool thing to be... And very similar of what a strong Mexican woman is, too--especially the "descended from a long line of matriarchs" that faced all sorts of hardships. Still, I think you Southern Belles (is that still politically correct? If it isn't I apologize) have much more mettle and less conflicts in where your loyalties lie. Good for you!

Excellent post! Proud to be a (newly transplanted) southern girl.

I'm southern thru and thru. Saw a saying one time that said something to the effect that a southern woman can stop you in your tracks by a simple "bless your heart"

Yankee here. :-) Lol...but I always tell people, I live a stone's throw from the Mason-Dixon. ;-) This is a cool theme for the A to Z! Will have to share with a couple of my southern friends (G.R.I.T.S.). :-)

I am a product of Southern roots, and while I grew up south of Mason-Dixon, Florida is southern in geography only. I do love your theme, and will be following along!
